I've decided to drop my weapons and give up the fight against the current Mercury retrograde. I will stay silent, peering at the world from the safe cocoon of my sheets, with my two kittens purring in my lap, the shadow of a long-stemmed wilting flower against the oncoming setting sun, feeling light with thought and unusually calm and numb.

Sleep is such a cure.

I finally saw Gilda again the other night.. and fell in love with Rita Hayworth all over again. She is absolutely ravishing, overshadowing everyone in the movie with her beauty. It made me think about today's standard of beauty compared to that of then.. and wish I was born in a different era. Her hair is magnificent, her eyebrows drawn to perfection and her wardrobe.. ah don't even get me started. The sharp shoulders and the low necklines, excessive jewelry, drapery and cinched waists are enough to make a girl want to time travel. Oh and the hair......... must have her hair.

If you haven't seen it, you absolutely must.

Thinking about the movie is making me all depressed.. I miss my own little love story.

This is how I am going to grow out my hair. Eventually.
To me, she is LEGENDARY.. I have the maddest girl-crush on her. Live on stage she is notorious for her crotch shots and frankly, I like a lady with no shame.

Not to mention her song "Tony the Beat" which has been my #1 kite song ever since it came out.

I have become shamelessly obsessed with True Blood, and am frustrated because my download on the latest episode has stopped at 45%.. guess for now I'll have to satisfy my thirst (pun intended) with pretty pictures from Anna Paquin's NYLON cover. Ive always been strangely drawn to actresses with an unusual kind of beauty and Anna's gap toothed smile gets me every time. She is gorgeous without having to look like a boring mannequin.. and I love her as the feisty Sookie Stackhouse, especially because of her Oh-no-you-did-not-just-say-that-moments.

Now if only my download would pick up again..

Lastly, I am overwhelmed with the response on my last post, and was especially touched by the emails I have received. It is always comforting to know that somewhere, miles and miles away, someone is feeling the anguish and carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders too.. at least now I know we are carrying it together, and sharing the load. Nobody should ever be too afraid to express their love, opinion, shame or grief.. the only way to stay true to yourself is by being honest with yourself. Set yourself free ♥
