I know I don't move very fast but I'm heading for the stars
There isn't an excuse in the book valid enough to explain why I've been such a terrible blogger. You guys sure you don't want me to just exit? I've only had enough energy left for Instagram.. Life just gets in the way sometimes.
The last few weeks have been like a roller coaster ride - the good kind. Still evidently single (for soon, a year) I'm taking advantage of my much needed alone time to get to know myself more. I realized how lost I had been in the past two and a half years, after my huge breakup drama, something that failed to register for the longest time, and it's such a relief to be able to breathe out after all this time and energy spent on all things negative.
These days, I find myself wanting to understand the simple things more. I am more aware of the true meaning of friendship, and investing more love in those who I just know will be around for longer than a weekend or two, and just that in itself has brought me so much happiness. Maybe it's turning yet another year older, but I can't help but continuously be grateful for how far I've come. I've turned into the dream machine that I had forgotten to be and borderline naive or not, I've decided to delay my return to reality.. Indefinitely.
These photos were taken by the most brilliant Jenna Genio for YStyle on Philippine Star. It is so rare for me to invite people into my home, my sanctuary and safe place, so here you go. I bought my vanity at a thrift shop, on a little adventure shopping spree with my most fave renegade stylist Carla Villanueva, and turned it into an almost shrine-like little spot by the window. Clearly I'm a big fan of skulls, flowers and crucifixes. I've also realized that my humble shoe collection needs a much awaited update.. And since I'm no longer moving around like a maniac, can that be my new excuse to go on a shoe-shopping frenzy?
Wearing a customized thrifted black leather skirt, Hanes bra, leather Converse kicks and a metal plated snapback from Bangkok
Thanks Sharon Soledad from Shu Uemura for my makeup!

And I would give all this and heaven too
Who would have thought I might be able to fake the bride gene so easily? And to think, the day we shot this, was the day of all "I didn't sleep because I was fighting with my boyfriend all night" days. And the best actress award goes to.. Of course, if you have a whole team of beauty experts and an obviously indescribably talented photog/magician on your side, the results aren't all that surprising. And if you are wondering why I look so happy and giggly, I must confess, it is probably because of my good friend and stylist Erica Paredes telling me I look like a cream puff in the dress and then commanding me to look "glowing" and "radiating" - two words I would only use to describe myself with if I had suddenly turned into bright yellow radioactive matter. Naturally.

She laughs like God, her mind's like a diamond
Before I left the Philippines, I wrapped up two last minute magazine shoots. This one for Mabuhay Magazine had all my friends, who have recently travelled on a Philippine Airlines flight, instagramming photos of the article and text me things like "You are everywhere!" or "Dude, this chick looks like you!". Here is the full feature. Doesn't the cover just make you wanna leave your job, sell your house and move to Palawan?! This article is making me so homesick right now.
Meanwhile, in (albeit) sunny Rabat, I am daydreaming of swimming, sun tans and a massive jug of Sangria. Two weeks to go until Marrakech. Booyaa.
But while I'm here, I shouldn't complain. My life hasn't exactly been of the uneventful sorts lately.
If you know me well, you will know exactly what this means. hahha ;)
Thank you Anika Ventura from Mabuhay :)

And distance is braille and all that entails
Photos by Inez Moro
Hiiiiiiiiiiii ♥
Yes. I'm the worst blogger ever, I know.
So I have finally moved away. I arrived in Morocco last week, and had no time in between settling in, a quickie trip to Marrakech and starting my new job. Supermarkets are exciting again, because I cant read most of the labels, crossing roads is like an adventure in itself and learning how to drive stick in French, when you can't speak French, is proving to be tricky, and also hilarious.
Morocco is a beautiful country, there is lots to see, and my new job in tourism now allows me to do a little exploring. I have a stack of books to read, and photos to go through.. it's overwhelming, but exciting at the same time!
When you start to feel stuck and unhappy with your life, it usually means only one thing.. boredom. That and throw in a little heartbreak and confusion and its a recipe made to create self destructive little lemmings, and a lemming I refuse to be. It's funny what a little plane ride and a change of environment can achieve for our sanity. Once you learn how to put yourself first, and the things you know you deserve for yourself become non-negotiable, you know you are starting to wake up.
And when you clear your mind and throw the things that weigh you down out the door, you make more space for the things that truly matter. And space for yourself, above all.
PS: Photos were shot at Salcedo Market for an in-flight magazine. Styled by the ever so kooky Carla Villanueva.

Se você quiser eu largo tudo vou pr'o mundo com você meu bem..

If you happened to be reading yesterday's YStyle section in the Philippines Star, you might have stumbled upon little old me at the Boracay Bound party held at the Tides.. My friend Emily laughed her butt off and what I thought was a pretty accurate description of my way of dressing. If you know me in real life, you would too.. I wear my sarcasm like a badge of honor ;)
In other news, I am in love with my new pair of sunnies. They are round and tortoise and the best thing is.. they were a steal. Must immediately start fantasizing about city outfits.. and deliberate a possible stop in Manila.. To be honest with you, the thought of traffic alone makes me wanna hurl. But then again my credit card swiping hand is itching to be utilized......
Currently obsessed with:
green tea coated sunflower seeds
singkamas + mangosteens
waking up early
DIY turban headbands
zipper dresses
Swiss chocolate
Vanessa da Mata
...............PS: I miss you, lover ♥

Across the sand the warm air blows from her eyes you know she was half a world away

As promised here are the behind the scenes photos from the METRO shoot.. Sarah is looking stunning in the beauty shots and Eden emulates Cleopatra perfectly. I loved the neo-tribal theme with the heavy gold accessories.. I would have worn all the dresses on that rack.
These days I am busy doing non-fashion things like baking more rainbow cupcakes, packing boxes and attending my Art of Living classes. Today we did the long kriya and I swear I floated out of my body and into the universe for a moment, it was insane. I'm also on a strict diet (no smoking/drinking/meat/fish/caffeine) and doing my breathing exercises at home and answering profound questions like "When will I be happy?".. Its a beautiful experience I recommend highly to anyone who wants to learn more about themselves and life.
In other news, my boy is getting on a plane in a couple of hours.. to Egypt. There is something old fashioned and romantic about expecting post cards and long distance love ♥
