What you gonna do when she calls your name?

Frank151 Philippines: Boracay Photoshoot from Frank151 on Vimeo.

I can't believe I have never posted the Frank151 BTS video from a shoot I did with my favorite island ladies, a year and a half ago. What have I been doing with my life??

My erratic day-to-day schedule is threatening to murder me in cold blood, but I am fighting back, coffee and red bull in hand. Now if only that would really make up for the average 3-4 hours of sleep I get on a nightly basis. Oddly enough, I absolutely thrive off such rigorous torture.. which again brings me back to my all-familiar penchant for all things masochistic.

This shoot was about representing the country in the Frank 151 issue dedicated entirely to my beloved motherland.

Thank you Sarah Meier and Erica Paredes, for always including me in the most inspiring of all projects.

One looooooooove.

"Swim to me, swim to me, let me enfold you."

“If the moon smiled, she would resemble you.
You leave the same impression
Of something beautiful, but annihilating.”
- Sylvia Plath, Ariel; The Restored Edition

Once upon a time, I used to be a mermaid

I was missing the sea so much today that when I found this footage in the depths of my hard drive, I couldn't resist editing it so I could share it here. I kinda wish we had used a better camera instead of a point and shoot, but then again, there is something dreamy and dark about the mildly pixellated images.. highlighting my exact feelings over the beauty of this song, which plunges me into a deep blur of darkness and longing, each and every time I hear it..

Now my foolish boat is leaning broken lovelorn on your rocks

Photos  by Inez Moro
Vintage one-piece, fur vest stolen from Carla

As already previously (and shamefully) admitted, I am probably the most inconsistent blogger-being ever created. A big part of my now crumbling pile of new-year's resolutions was that I would post more regularly, and I won't even bother trying to come up with a good excuse for my impossible laziness.. I have just been too caught up in my life. Which in my world, means, I have been holing myself up in my bat cave, refusing to deal with all things that make me uncomfortable, and denying myself reality.

Alas, after a little weekend escape into a private island towards the Pacific, I am back with an almost embarrassing amount of backlogs in my inbox.. These photos were taken a couple of weeks ago, when Inez and I decided that life is boring and that we must now find other ways to keep ourselves entertained in the most adult fashion we can manage. A.k.a. I bring over something resembling something that grows in bushes, smear on as much liquid liner as my eyelid can manage to host and we start clicking away in the confines of her 4 walls until I can pose no more. Et voila.

Of course I take it you too wear your swimsuits out in public, covered only by a flimsy fur vest.

Naturally.

And if Cupid's got a gun, then he's shootin'..

[wearing Boom Sason Fashion LaMoss pants, neon tie-dye The Headware worn as tube top]

Apologies to all the unanswered emails! I have been so caught up in the now that I have had no time to breathe, let alone sleep. I just got back from Morocco a few days ago after 4 months of falling in love with the country and have been fighting my jetlag and heartaches with my boys Jose & Jack.. 5 days in Boracay should restore me to my better self and then I promise I will try to wake up my half-dead braincells by writing more. For more constant updates, follow me on Instagram [renegadelovers] and Tumblr [renegadeloverrr.tumblr.com].

Also, I finally have a Facebook page for the blog:
Show me some lovin' ♥

Kisses from gloomy Boracay! XOXO

PS: Thank you my lovely Xavier Ryan for the photos!

She laughs like God, her mind's like a diamond

Before I left the Philippines, I wrapped up two last minute magazine shoots. This one for Mabuhay Magazine had all my friends, who have recently travelled on a Philippine Airlines flight, instagramming photos of the article and text me things like "You are everywhere!" or "Dude, this chick looks like you!". Here is the full feature. Doesn't the cover just make you wanna leave your job, sell your house and move to Palawan?! This article is making me so homesick right now.

Meanwhile, in (albeit) sunny Rabat, I am daydreaming of swimming, sun tans and a massive jug of Sangria. Two weeks to go until Marrakech. Booyaa.

But while I'm here, I shouldn't complain. My life hasn't exactly been of the uneventful sorts lately.
If you know me well, you will know exactly what this means. hahha ;)

Thank you Anika Ventura from Mabuhay :)

Like every day's my last, this time runs extra fast..

  HAPPY NEW YEAR !!! ☮ ✌

I don't know about you but my 2011 verged on the ridiculously unforgiving. Its a wonder I made it through without committing murder, or arson.. It was like being stripped off my last bit of sanity. Luckily that's over, and 2012 finally offers us a hopeful glimpse at a clearer horizon. Since it's the year the Mayans have apparently predicted our doom, surely it isn't a bad idea to take this year by the horns and go at a race pace, fun loving, much dancing, loud laughing and life living.. to the maximum.. right?

As for me, I ended my turbulent year with lots of windy days, sickeningly perfect sunsets, a few sunrise moments,  a kiss under the fireworks, one too many drinks and a French boy I adore. A couple of days into the new year and I am perfectly content counting my (few)pesos, making ridiculous travel plans, working my behind off and spending mucho time with friends who matter. When a breather from teaching is finally in order, I'm going to write my 2012 bucket list in the thickest marker I can find on a bit of neon cardboard and hang it on my wall for me to always see right before I jet out of the house and into the sun.. After all, there is still lots of wall space in my room meant for this purpose, right underneath my perfectly placed fairy lights..
How was your NYE?

Sea and the rock below cocked to the undertow

Apologies for the mini-absence!

I have been working very hard.. (as you can see in these photos) and haven't had the motivation to actually put together a post, so this time I will let the photos do most of the talking. I have re-routed my plans and decided to nest in Boracay for the winter season.. Kiteboarding started calling my name yet again, and who am I to resist such a siren call? I have started teaching it again and have to say, I surprised myself.. I didn't think I could go back to enjoying the scene this much again. I'm looking forward to a busy season, followed by some travelling if all goes well. I just moved into my new mini 3 bedroom apartment and all I can think about is how to feel more at home in my own little 4 walls.. yet again.

Right now I am back in Manila, for a little paperwork, a little shopping, a little high heels-wearing and of course some boyfriend time.. but for all those who asked, yes I will be in Boracay for the holidays so holler if you are in the area.

Proof that I work:

Not my most flattering photo face.. Haha! Photo by Boom Sason :)

What are y'all doing this winter?

Love, D
