They will see us waving from such great heights..

If today's post seems less clever than usual, its probably because I woke up with soup for brains. Last night's party extended way into the morning and well, lets just say I didn't wake up until sunrise today.

Paula and I had gotten together a few nights before and assembled ourselves a couple of amazingly obnoxious Neo-Indian headdresses.. We were so psyched with the end result, and I plan to expose this little neon beauty a few more times on this blog - its the perfect beach party accessory. We started the night with a late dinner that Mars' mom was kind enough to arrange for us.. besides spicy crab there were plates full of delish garlic prawns and piles of the best baby back ribs in the world. I was too busy stuffing my face to take photos, but what can ya do, my fingers were full of sauce and crab meat. After dinner we walked the few steps to the beachfront of Hey Jude and waited for the countdown - the fireworks went off right above us so it literally looked like it was raining fire. What happened after seemed like one big blur.. all of a sudden it was 5.30am and we were talking about the sunrise. The party on the beachfront ended around 8am after the office of the mayor called and had us shut down. More time spent with my closest buddies listening to Mandalay and Telepopmusik in the room while chatting about careers in fashion and then laughing about the highlights of the night was the perfect way to wind down.. around 11am we did the walk of shame home, which thankfully is only about 20 steps away. But that didn't stop some random local girls from giggling when they saw us stumbling home, faces hidden in our hoodies and my headdress in tow.

Best outfit comment from random stranger: "I loved you in the Village People!"

Big shout out to Melvyn for my amazing new haircut! x
