Love, you're news to me, you're a little bit more than i thought you'd be..

After sharing a home with someone for what seems like forever, I had expected that moving in on my own would turn me into a late night drinking, endlessly smoking, depressed little lonely girl - boy was I off! Don't get me wrong, the last 5 years of my life were stellar in their own way, and I lived my life and learned from my mistakes and will forever take my wisdom with me wherever I will go. But something happened in between my 2 week unintentional hunger strike and the day I put up fairy lights in my new home and danced around in floral dresses that greatly contributed to an unexpected surge of strength. Its like reading the book of my life while it is being re-written in front of my eyes, everyday exchanges like floating letters being printed as I go along.. me following the story as it unfolds, wide eyed, fueled by curiosity and strangely fascinated by my own unrealized fear.

I am asked, every day, how I am and the only real appropriate answer is a sly smile. I don't know how to define what I'm feeling and how I'm "surviving" this great change - It just is what it is. There are days when I miss the simplicity of grocery shopping for two, or even the ever popular anti-diet of staying in bed all weekend and ordering in for as many meals as possible - and in as many unhealthy ways as possible. But ultimately, the sheer joy I feel when I'm speeding through the wet streets on my bike, my ipod playing Goldfrapp, Regina Spektor or La Roux and my hair flying behind me is enough to make a girl wanna walk up to everyone and kiss them. Add to the mix the most amazing bunch of island girls, random potluck dinners, impromptu happy hour meet ups, an amazingly fun new job and the most wicked little corner in a two bedroom tree house and what we have here ladies and gentlemen, is a happy little single lady. So to all the suddenly single girls who have emailed me asking me: "How?", I say.. Buy yourself everything you have always wanted to put up in your space, decorate to your heart's desire, fill up your fridge with all things you love, buy as many candles as you can house, turn your new bed into your own private haven, buy yourself the most perfect key chain to add to your new keys, move in.. and sit on your deck, pour yourself a glass of wine, lean back, say goodbye to your heartache, a toast to your liberation and a big hello to the beginning of a beautiful new chapter..

Beneath a fruity landslide we both laughed hysterically

Taken at Bords' kiddie themed birthday party - notice the most spectacularly colored bread.. I'm a sucker for anything rainbow, especially when it comes with a cheese pimiento filling. Psychedelic!

Yesterday I: graduated from my Art of Living course, finished the Boracay Bound event w/the baddest team on the island, team Seair, won a cellphone which is most likely going to end up on Ebay, filled a Loco Frio tumbler with strawberry kiwi slush and 3 shots of Absolut, got stuck in room 1 and laughed at silly stories that are borderline disturbing. Because of the 2 day liquor ban due to the elections, the bar shut down earlier than expected and I pretty much just lied awake in bed until sunrise.. all in all a very productive day.

I have quite a few things to do this week - a visit to my tailor, more packing of more boxes, some sewing and tying up a bunch of lose ends before I get ready to step on solid ground again.. I swear, when it starts raining, I'm seriously off to Cebu.

  14. Pulling an Oreo move on some fancy waffle cookie.
  15. Happy birthday Maggie! ♥

Tic toc tic toc goes the time.. a week until my better half hops on a plane and leaves me for cleopatraland. I have already warned everyone around me just in case I go bonkers after a few months, which is likely considering I really don't have any idea what I am going to do with my time next. I'm looking forward to going back to my hometown and am playing with the thought of diving head first into intense yoga training or picking up something I hate doing like running or studying. I guess I have quite a few options, so we will see where the road of boredom will take me next. If Manila didn't stress me out so much I would probably move back there, but I almost feel like that would be instant inspiration suicide.

Oh and I'm currently obsessed with Muse beyond belief. Maybe they can help keep me sane for 4 months.

Fly free and happy beyond birthdays and across forever

wearing a Twinkle Ferraren beaded bikini, vintage babydoll dress

Turning 26 last Saturday was a hoot. We started with drinks the night before.. lots of drinks.. and on the day of we headed out to a secret spot for a little picnic. Everyone brought something to contribute to the already large amount of food and drinks, and as soon as we were done setting up, we just sat and ate and talked and laughed. It was exactly as I had hoped it would be. The sunset was breathtaking and by sunset we were rolling around hysterically laughing and playing silly drinking games in the dark. I could not have planned it better, it was absolutely perfect and everything I wanted.

Thank you to those who made it happen, especially my partners in crime, Paula and Matet.. and our respective partners. You rock my socks.

Lately:
  • I received an email from Vogue.fr, which is Paris Vogue's online equivalent, and was asked to answer some questions for a possible inclusion in one of their articles. I mean, Paris Vogue! That made my day like you cant even imagine.
  • I have spent quite a bit of time at my friend's spa, you have to check it out if you are here for the summer, I just had the best facial I have ever had there, and they managed to make my feet look umm, normal again. That is never an easy task. Go check out Body & Sole on the Boracay Main Road, across the street from Allied Bank.
  • In an effort to take advantage of the last wind before summer truly hits, I have spent more time in the water kiteboarding. I have had some bad crashes, but they were nothing compared to what happened to me yesterday.. I crashed my bike. Now I have a banged up and bruised knee and my elbow isn't looking too happy either. This now means I have to stay out of the water for a while, which suits me just fine, because I can barely even get out of bed.
  • Mars leaves for Egypt in May and we are moving shortly before that so there are heaps of things to prepare for.. I'm stressed and excited at the same time, and also really sad about me not seeing him for 4 months..
I will hopefully resume my blogging duties again soon, but for now here are the photos from my 26th♥; "Trust me Its Paradise" clearly still applies..

Big kiss! ♥

Lately..

  1. My first batch of tiramisu cupcakes were a hit ♥
  2. ASYA Premiere's rice leche flan for the sweet toothed.
  3. Our "awards" from the Bolabog Oscars.
  4. The sunset viewed from ASYA's presidential suite.. spot me!
  5. Rainbow Velvet Cupcakes a la Dane.
  6. Before..
  7. After it was brutally ravished ;)

I'm exhausted from hitting the mainland today for some fabric shopping.. I ended up buying a couple of rad tie dye drop crotches, some fabric to be used as sarongs and a new swimsuit. I think I'm almost set for the summer.. this heatwave is insane, and I plan to wear as little clothing as possible to survive it. When will the rain fall? A rain dance is totally overdue.

Oh and I signed up for a formspring account - boredom struck last night! You may find the question box in the sidebar.. x

PS: Shoutout to Karencilla for reminding my cluttered brain to attempt this ;)
