I've been roaming around, I was looking down at all I see..

dress - topshop

dress - vintage, blazer - topshop

bleached jeans - vintage & DIYed

Oh how hectic it all has been. Well the good news is, I survived one of my exams, while the pattern making one has be re-scheduled for this coming Tuesday. The good news is, I have finished project numero uno for sewing, which is an unlined high waisted skirt, and will hopefully complete project # deux on Monday, which is yet another high waisted skirt, this time with lining. After getting my first skirt approved by no other than our director, I proceeded to cutting about 6 inches off it, to suit my style more. I will wear it sometime this week and take photos, can you tell I'm proud? Sewing darts in the right way is no joke.. lol

Again, I have been little miss retail therapy monster, victimizing more TopShop outlets and taking advantage of their ridiculously priced items. By today I must have lost my shopping mojo, because I ended up leaving without buying anything.. for myself that is. So instead I headed over to TopMan and did a little shopping for the boyfriend who has been nothing but amazing in the last few weeks..

As for the photos above, outfit number one is a dress I plan to copy, courtesy of TopShop. It has this amazing bow detail, and we all know how much I bows. Next, the red dress I bought in Baguio City on that vintage shopping excursion with the gals, and the bleached jeans I did ages ago on the island in a tiny bathroom and with two small bottles of thick bleach. I just made a slit in the top of the bottle, and squirted the bleach onto the wet denim.. but I had to do two takes on it because I wasn't satisfied with it the first time around. I kinda love these jeans, they used to be men's jeans until I turned them into skinnies. Love.

I have several ongoing little projects right now, one of them involving gold sequins and and black satin, and another one I am still sketching/figuring out, which includes a lightning bolt. Possibly also via sequins. Oh, Lady Gaga would be so proud!

Miss Brightside

Oh what a hectic week, I barely have time to do things like sleep, or worse, paint my nails.. but for shopping somehow, I always manage to find time.. Today I passed by TopShop for a buy one take one sale. Ridiculous, I know. You can buy two sale items, and have to only pay for the pricier piece. I got an amazing swimsuit and a some sailor shorts for about $18. Ah, TopShop is definitely rubbing me the right way these days.

Me: I predict I will drop a few pounds very soon.
BF: Really? Why?
Me: Mmm.. too much shopping..
BF: Exercise?
Me: No money for food..

After which he promptly offered to deposit some money in my pathetic looking account, to make sure I dont starve. Oh he is the best, yes he is.. thank god I dont have access to our joint account right now or else it would be half empty right now.. the account and my local Zara/Topshop branches. Damn you, sales! And thank you. =)

Ok I think its pretty obvious I am slightly delirious from not sleeping, so I should probably make my way to la la land asap. You all have an amazing wednesday/thursday!

ps: Above I am fitting a dress from Camille Liwanag's upcoming graduation collection. I am thinking of how I can incorporate a petticoat in my daily fashion.. any suggestions?

EDIT: I just realized this is post # 100 for me. Oh how fast time flies.

Oh what amazing photos.. make me all warm and fuzzy inside..

I miss my Martian.

And model dude's jacket in photo #1 makes me want this:

Too bad its being bid on like crazy.. I guess now I get how Rumi can have 3 pairs of Chloe Docs.. Oh future lucky owner of jacket I love so much, please consider selling it to me. Thanks.

He draws me in.. I'm powerless..

jeans - thrifted, tee - topshop, clutch - tonic

I love sale season! I kinda think its worth living off 7 eleven meals, if I can shop every week.. I think Ive been on the beach for too long, I wasn't aware of how much I missed retail therapy.

These days though, instead of grabbing everything I like, I find myself thinking about whether or not I can imitate the piece. With my new superpowers, i.e. pattern making, sewing and designing, I am drowning in ideas. I dream up all sorts of things, I swear, I am the ultimate fashion geek. I am almost done with my first skirt, out of a pattern I made myself.. and I'm finishing up a tote I am making.. and tomorrow, midterms! Yikes.

I cant believe its almost been a month since Ive started.. one more month and then I'm off to my sunny little island for 2 months of intense... welllllll, partying, what else. Yay for me.

How is everyone doing?

Lily Lily Lily

Found this on theskinnywebsite, where they mostly dissed her figure and talked about how her outfit makes her look like she has really short legs.

I say, I would wear everything here just the way Lily did.

I guess I fail at this fashion thing, according to americans, lol.

Now where the hell do I get that Jacket?!

Just live and breathe, and try not to die again..

Admittedly, the title is a really lame attempt at something emo. But I had to at least try, considering it was our theme of the day. I googled emo quotes and got some really random lines, mostly about love. Is that what being emo is about? Because if it is, then Ive been emo all my life.

Surprisingly, this theme fits perfectly into my week.......................

We looked like a gang of misunderstood misfits, walking to the mall for lunch - only our giggling gave us away. Ah, I felt like such a poser, lol.

I was told that next week, I have midterms. I was quite confuzzled for a while there. Is that what school is about? I swear, I have not had an exam in a decade... wait, does a medical exam count?

And eyes that burn like cigarettes..

shorts - cotton on, tee - thrifted, leopard tights - xhilaration, boots - vintage

  • These past few weeks have been such a blur.. I thought, four subjects would not be enough to fill my days - oh boy was I wrong! Time is moving at top speed, and next week I have midterms. That, just blows my mind.
  • Today, we were supposed to come dressed in loud colors. Instead, I went for the tights my cousin brought me home from the US. I got heaps of stares for them. Walking to the mall after class, one man even overtook us on the sidewalk, just so he could check out what I was wearing. You must understand, people here are used to blending in with the crowd.. so during rush hour, with the crowds rushing to get to the train station, a girl with leopard legs is quite baffling to most commuters. Well, i would have been pretty offended if nobody had noticed. lol
  • I have no idea why my comments were disabled for my last post. I blame it on late night blogging, and a ridiculously shitty Internet connection. Sorrrrrrry.
  • Below is evidence of more sugar induced highs. At the end of our 9 hour class, we all pretty much felt like our brains were expanding, or shrinking, or both at the same time, if that makes any sense at all. Mmmm, sprinkles.
  • Oh and no, it was nobody's birthday. There need not be a birthday for us to enjoy a delish birthday cake.. no?

shirt - the landmark, shorts - billabong, vest - vintage, bag - sm dept. store, sandals - far east plaza ( Singapore)

Did you all have an amazing weekend? I had a great time with family and friends, shopping, sailing and watching movies..

Have you seen Bride Wars? Its hilarious. I love love love Kate Hudson, she is so adorable. She wore a Vera Wang gown that made me, notoriously unwilling bride, want to do my I DO's. Ah, the power of fashion.

Fashion Design 101

jeans - thrifted, top - zara, hoodie - billabong, scarf - forever 21

As you can see, I am learning lots in class, like how to put a wig on all wonky. And how use my new self timer. My classmates are a bunch of funnies.. as you can tell by my ginormous smile. Oh, you wont believe how much sugar we consumed before this photo.

Im exhausted! But I am finding my way in the big city, baby steps, but still. I am, however, starting to miss the island.. who would have thought?

My weekend starts tomorrow.. except I am still deciding whether to pass by school for my sewing or not. I swear, I got so excited about sewing my first professional looking zippers, that I was so tempted to do a cartwheel. Looks like I picked the right subjects, hey?

Special unspoken without sound..

tee - shredded forever 21, drop crotch pants - gift (from Thailand), pinstripe blazer - thrifted, gladiators - cotton on

Thank god for the giant mirrors in the hallway, or else I would never have an outfit shot. So as you can see, I have a new friend, Mr. Cybershot. I just hope we get along better than I did with the Canon. We just weren't compatible, especially the night when Er/P.A. & I were too wasted to hold it, and ended up dropping it face down in the sand. Who knew lenses were so sensitive? heh.

One of the things I want to make a pattern for is a pair of drop crotches. Pattern making is fun, but full of fractions. I have never been friends with numbers. But with the help of amazing jersey fabric, I think I should wing this one. I want them in all colors.. why do they only come in black?

My Internet is miraculously a little faster tonight so I will try to answer everyone's comments. Hope everyone is well!

xxx

P.S. I'm totally crashing from my sugar high in class. Chocolate + cookies + iced tea + candy + mallows ++ 4 hours = (crash + burn).

Remembering Heath

Congratulations for winning best supporting actor. My heart just breaks every time I'm reminded that he is gone.

By far one of the most amazing actors of his time.

Lay where you're laying, don't make a sound..

leggings - terranova, tee - playground sportswear, sneaks - converse all stars

This is me, leaving my sewing class today. Traffic was awful, but I'm somehow surviving it all. Ive been sketching like a madwoman, and (crap!) just remembered I still have 3 patterns to make for tomorrow's class. If you haven't guessed by now, I am taking up something fashion related.

Ive been shopping quite a bit.. the post holiday sales have been crazy. Today I also passed by this store to buy rulers that I need for my
pattern making class, and bought some materials for a band vest DIY. Sadly, they had no pyramid studs, but they did have some star shaped ones. I think I might go back for those.. once I figure out what in my closet I can destroy and attack with studs.

I also had a strange dream about a boy and.. snow. Anyone know how to decipher dreams? This one has kinda been on my mind all day..

You did it again, Miss Moss.

Saving money on my tuition, meant more shopping for me. I bought the Kate Moss Style book on a whim, and loooove it. It talks about how she started in the business, and stood out because of her grungy 2nd hand style. A must read for all those who love her.

Meanwhile, I am sketching, painting, coloring and coming home with ink all over my hands, and I couldnt be any happier. This school thing really is something.
